On a glorious Sunday the Kuraby Mosque Madrassah BBQ
Fund Raiser attracted a large number of visitors to the
auction, stalls and food stands.
Despite some stiff competition from the doughnut stand,
the Crescents of Brisbane's CresCafe raised over $800
for the fund from the sale of coffee, tea and cupcakes.
The Team at Crescents of Brisbane are grateful to the
wonderful ladies of the community who donated the
exquisite cakes which, as one Crescents Team member put
it, "literally flew out the door".
Looking at the intricate decorations and presentations
of the trays of cupcakes on the table it was quiet
obvious that a great deal of tender loving care had gone
into making each one of them. Thank you ladies!
Cupcakes aside, a new and serious contender for the
title of Auctioneer Extraordinaire rose to the occasion
on Sunday (albeit with the help of a little red stool).
Farouk Adam turned out to be a real trouper on the day,
cajoling and coaxing his audience and selling off
everything from a baby rocker to an evaporator.
Watch out Mr. Goss! There's a new kid on the block!
